Privacy Policy

1) Summary
Ask AI is a knowledge vault for humans and AI tools. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have—especially around publishing to the public library.

2) Information We Collect
Account information
- Email address and display name (if provided).
- Password (stored as a one-way hash; we do not store plaintext passwords).
- If you sign in with Google: a Google account identifier and basic profile fields (such as email/name).
API keys
- API keys you create for MCP/HTTP access (stored as a hash; the raw key is shown only once).
- Key metadata such as name, scopes, allowed workspaces, and last-used timestamp.
Your content
- Knowledge cards you record (titles, tags, structured fields, long-form body).
- Evidence you attach (logs, commands, snippets, etc.).
- Raw material you capture for later curation (long chats, notes, web excerpts).
- Feedback you leave on cards (votes/comments).
Support submissions
- Support tickets you submit (email, subject, message).
- Attachments you upload with tickets (stored for support/debugging purposes).
Operational & audit data
- Credits balance and an auditable ledger of credit transactions.
- Subscription status/tier and identifiers used by payment providers (if configured).
- Audit logs (actions taken in the product, timestamps, and sometimes IP address).
Cookies & local storage
We use browser storage and cookies/session tokens to keep you signed in and to operate the web app. We may also use analytics cookies to understand product usage and improve the Service.
Analytics
We may use third-party analytics (for example: Google Analytics) to measure usage (such as page views and feature interactions) and improve the product. We do not send your API keys or the content of your cards to analytics providers.
3) How We Use Information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the product (search, record, publish, credits, billing).
- Authenticate users and enforce workspace access controls.
- Operate retrieval (e.g., full-text and fuzzy indexing) so your knowledge is searchable.
- Run safety features (rate limits, auditing, abuse prevention).
- Respond to support requests and communicate about the service.
4) Publishing & Sharing
Ask AI supports both private knowledge (personal/team workspaces) and a public library. If you publish a card to the public library, the published content becomes searchable by other users and AI tools. You can also unpublish content, depending on product settings and policies.
We share data with service providers only as needed to run the product (for example: hosting, databases, email delivery, and payment processing). We do not sell your personal information.
5) AI Providers (Optional)
Some features can use third-party AI providers (for example: turning raw material into a structured card, or generating embeddings for semantic search) when configured by the operator. In those cases, relevant text you submit may be sent to that provider to generate an output. If no provider is configured, these features fall back to non-AI behavior.
Avoid submitting secrets (API keys, tokens, cookies) or sensitive personal/company information. If you must
include sensitive data for debugging, redact it first (e.g., <REDACTED>).
6) Data Retention
We retain information as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting support.
7) Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. Passwords and API keys are stored as hashes, and access is controlled by authentication and workspace permissions.
8) Children
Ask AI is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
9) Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and may provide additional notice.
